Attention teen photographers and nature lovers! Nanaimo North’s Teen Advisory Group is running a Teen Photography contest! The theme is NATURE and we invite teens to submit their photos. You could win a $25 Starbucks gift card or a bookish gift basket! Here’s the rules and how to enter:
The Rules:
- Maximum 2 photos per person.
- All entries must be received by 11:59 pm on Saturday, October 16th.
- You must be 12-18 years old on October 16th to be eligible for a prize.
- You must live in Vancouver Island Regional Library’s service area.
- Photos must be taken between Sept. 19 and Oct. 16th. No past projects allowed.
- Photos must be taken by you. No copyrighted images or photos taken by others.
- When submitting photos, please avoid any identifying human features, such as faces.
- No AI generated photos, no AI add-ons, no Photoshop.
- Adjusting your photo(s) exposure, contrast, etc. in your camera app is acceptable.
How to Enter:
- Submit your photos to nanaimonorth@virl.bc.ca . Please include the following information in your entry. If you want, you can copy and paste the following fields into your email entry so you don’t forget anything:

- Do you consent to having your photos displayed at the Nanaimo North branch of the library?

How will the contest by judged?
This contest will be judged by Nanaimo North’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG). TAG is a library leadership and advocacy group made up of teen volunteers in grades seven through twelve. TAG members will vote for their favorite photos. All Nanaimo North TAG members are eligible to vote, except for those that have chosen to participate in the contest instead.
