Join us at the Courtenay Library for an intimate afternoon of words and reflection as we host the opening remarks for the Comox Valley Art Gallery’s newest convergent program, Pas-à-pas; not intent on arriving.

How do we move through the landscape of loss? Acclaimed artist SD Holman and special guest Paul Wong will share insights into the creation of this multidisciplinary meditation on mourning and memory. Born from a 2,500 km walking journey, the exhibition explores grief not as a problem to be solved, but as a path to be walked—step by step.

Following the talk at the library, attendees will be invited across the street to the Comox Valley Art Gallery for the continuation of the opening celebration. The gallery portion will feature a live performance of J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations by renowned pianist Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa, hospitality, and an invitation to walk the labyrinth installation within the exhibition space.
