Join us for the inaugural meeting of Nanaimo’s new monthly book club: Reader’s Choice Book Club!
Want to talk about what you’re reading but don’t want to be told what to read? This is the book club for you! For our first meeting, bring whatever you’re reading or have read recently to share with the group.
For future meetings, you’ll have the choice of choosing books from a list of 15 prompts like
- Read a staff pick from your local library or indie bookstore
- Read a book set in or written in the 1980s
- Read a book in translation
- Read a book about (time) travel
- And more!
You can read any book that fits any prompt, whatever month you want. Then you can compare notes with bookish friends at our meetings! The idea is to have fun parameters to help you decide what to read next, but not to force you to read anything you don’t want to.
Appetizers to share will be provided by the library. If you’re able, buy a drink or some food to support Lighthouse Bistro and Pub for hosting us!
