Program description: Join us for an engaging and educational talk all about bears—our wild neighbours and vital members of local ecosystems. In this session, you’ll learn about the fascinating lifecycle of bears, from cubs to adulthood, and how their behaviour changes with the seasons. We’ll explore their feeding patterns, from spring foraging to fall hyperphagia, and the crucial role these behaviours play in their survival. Most important, we’ll discuss effective strategies for co-existing with bears and reducing human-wildlife conflict—whether as a hiker, homeowner, renter, or land manager. This talk will leave you better informed and empowered to make a positive impact in co-existing responsibly with our wild neighbours.
