Was it Really Murder? Big Crime in a Small Coastal Town
Join us at the Courtenay Library this Thursday, September 10th at 3:30 p.m. for a special author reading and Q&A with B.C. coastal author and artist Yvonne Maximchuk.
Maximchuk will be reading from her debut mystery novel, Murder Rides a Gale Force Wind. Set in the Broughton Archipelago, the story drops a major crime into the loose-knit coastal community of Echo Bay. When a body washes up on a nearby islet, the tight-knit town is thrown into a tumult of distrust and suspicion. Far from the structures of larger cities, the resourceful and sometimes merciless locals are used to taking matters—and justice—into their own hands.
Whether you’re a fan of gripping local stories or fascinated by off-grid life on the rugged B.C. coast, this is an afternoon you won’t want to miss. Attendees will also get an exclusive sneak peek at her upcoming, unfinished memoir, An Intertidal Life.
