Bodies Bodies Bodies — a A24 release from Halina Reijn based on a spec script by Kristen Roupenian — stars Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Rachel Sennott, Lee Pace, Chase Sui Wonders, Pete Davidson, and Myha’la Herrold. It deftly blends genres of horror, comedy, and locked room murder mystery, with lots of laughs, casual queer content, and a few light scares.
The story begins with a group of rich 20-somethings gathering at a remote family mansion for a hurricane party. Sophie (Amandla Stenberg) brings her new girlfriend, Bee (Maria Bakalova), to join her long-time friends. Stranded by the storm with no power and no car, they decide to play the party game “Bodies Bodies Bodies.” But things take a dark turn when actual dead bodies start turning up…
