Campbell River

We are open for takeout service: browse our catalogue online and request up to 50 items.  You will be contacted when they are ready to be picked up.
We no longer require you to make an appointment to pick up your holds; simply come at your convenience during any of our new branch hours.

Please bring your library card with you, we will ask you to scan your card before we retrieve your holds.

You will not have to pay any late fees that may appear on your account since our closure March 17th, 2020
Late fees may appear on your account due to:
– a delay of 3 to 5 days after you return your books and before they come off your account due to our quarantine procedure
– an online renewal performed by you on overdue items
Please ignore any of these late fee charges, they will eventually be removed from your account

Other services now available include:

Grab & Go Bags: Librarians have put together a themed bunch of 5 or so books (mostly fiction). Take a chance and try a carefully selected bag of books. You might discover a new favorite author or topic of interest! We will check out the books to you as usual and you can return them together or separately. For adults, teens, and children. Browse and check out a Grab & Go bag during our new branch hours

Book Bundles: Looking for your next favourite book? Get a customized bundle of books (and/or magazines, dvds, audiobooks, etc) made up just for you! The librarian will browse the Campbell River branch for you – for adults and children – and put together a bundle of materials we know you’ll love. Forms can be picked up and dropped off during our new branch hours or email us at CampbellRiver@virl.bc.ca

The book drop is only open during our open hours, as we quarantine our books for staff safety. If you have any questions, please contact us!

About the Branch

We respectfully acknowledge that this branch is situated on the unceded traditional territory of the Laichwiltach peoples, specifically the Wei Wai Kum First Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. The Campbell River branch serves the second largest population in our library system. For a community that is poised to grow and evolve in the years ahead, the library is evolving in tandem with the resources it offers, the spaces it provides, and the role it serves in this dynamic and diverse community.
