Meet Your Podcast Hosts!

Casey is a librarian and writer with special interests in Canadian and/or LGBTQ+ books. She also holds an MA in English Literature. She hosts the “Talk Bookish to Me” segment on the podcast, where she recommends all manner of great books, from Pride and Prejudice retellings to science fiction and fantasy by Black authors. In her off hours, you can find her working on her website Casey the Canadian Lesbrarian, gardening, biking, hiking, and–of course–reading!

Darby is a square dance caller and backyard farmer who got into libraries by riding the book carts at elementary school during recess (wheeeeee…!).  Her hobbies are sometimes impinged upon by her work as a librarian, which she also loves.  Some of her favourite work moments have involved drag queen storytime, hosting renowned storyteller Ivan Coyote, and her previous iPads for Fun classes when everyone tried taking selfies.  She reads widely and less fast than she used to due to a British murder mystery tv show habit.  Don’t ask her about chickens unless you really want to know.

Nathan is a librarian, musician and the producer of the earworm Meet Me In The Stacks theme song. In his role as a librarian, Nathan loves entertaining children and families at the Qualicum Beach library.
