  • One Book. One Community.

What if we all read just one book?

We are excited to announce that we will be launching our NEW online book club on June 1, and we are invited to join us and read Michael Christie’s novel Greenwood to get started.

Greenwood is a multigenerational family story, in which the unexpected legacies of a remote island off the coast of British Columbia will link the fates of five people over a hundred years. Cloud Atlas meets Barkskins in this ingenious nested-ring epic set against the devastation of the natural world.

Christie is a novelist based on Galiano Island, B.C. His most recent novel If I Fall, If I Die won the Northern Lit Award and was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize.

Join the discussion, join the community:

As an extension of our successful One Book. One Community Program launched in 2019, the online book club focuses on building community and bringing customers together through a shared reading experience.

Book club facilitators will host discussions in a special Facebook group, facilitate conversation and manage the book club from start to finish. Michael Christie will also be online helping our staff promote the program.
