VIRL does not use services like Upwork or any other online hiring resource to recruit freelancers.  All of VIRL’s recruiting and hiring takes place directly through VIRL.

Permanent Full Time Employees

Employees who have been assigned to a regularly scheduled 35 hours per week position and who have completed probation.

Permanent Part Time Employees

Employees who have been assigned a regularly scheduled position of less than 35 hours per week and who have completed probation.

Casual Employees

An employee who has no permanently scheduled hours and is willing to work on call with or without notice.

Pages

Employees who are classified as Pages must be a minimum of 14 years old and be registered and attend school on a part or full time basis.

Types of Employment

VIRL hires the best qualified candidates. Selections for bargaining unit positions are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the appropriate collective agreement. Depending on the job description and the location of the position, employees will be classified in one of the following groups:
