Job Description:

Vancouver Island Regional Library is looking for a Scheduling Assistant for a Casual-On-Call opportunity with our Scheduling Team located at our Nanaimo North (Administration) Branch.

The Scheduling Assistant is responsible to perform scheduling routines and provides clerical support as assigned. These responsibilities and tasks are carried out under the overall supervision of the Manager, People and Culture and within the regional library’s policies, procedures, standards and resources. Troubleshooting, accuracy, organization, high productivity and independence are essential in this position.

All duties and responsibilities are directly aligned with the Mission, Vision and Values and Strategic Plan of the Vancouver Island Regional Library.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Completion of Grade 12 and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant full time experience.
  • Ability to work accurately, independently and within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent typing/keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office including proficiency with databases.

You are required to have a valid BC Driver’s License and will also be required to satisfactorily complete a Criminal Record Check (Working with Children & Vulnerable Adults).
