One eRead Canada launches April 1
March 5, 2025
Mark your calendars! From April 1-30, Canadians can come together for a country-wide reading experience with One eRead Canada.
One eRead Canada is a digital book club and an initiative of the Canadian Urban Libraries Council (CULC). For the month of April, Vancouver Island Regional Library readers can get free, unlimited access to the eBook and digital audiobook version of Valid by Chris Bergeron.
Download the book, give it a read and join the discussion on Facebook with bookworms from across the country.
The Canadian Urban Libraries Council / Conseil des Bibliothèques Urbaines du Canada (CULC/CBUC) has created an opportunity for all public libraries to participate in a Canada-wide digital reading program. The initiative is similar to a “one book, one city” initiative, but on a national scale and in digital format available in both English and French.
Here’s how to get involved:
Download the book, with no holds or waitlists between April 1-30 through your Libby app or from our online eBook/eAudiobook collection here.- Join the national discussion on Facebook.
In addition to being a national, bilingual digital book club, One eRead Canada aligns with CULC’s ongoing campaign, eContent for Libraries. CULC aims to increase public awareness and advocacy of the eBook and eAudiobook issues, such as content, pricing, and access, currently faced by public libraries in Canada.
