Library Month Giveaway

October is Canadian Library Month! It’s a chance for libraries to spread the word about what we do and offer…because it’s more than
just books. Libraries promote cultural awareness, engage in the community, create partnerships, provide educational programs, support freedom of expression and much, much more.
We are also celebrating our library-loving community this fall with a three-part Library Month Giveaway Challenge. Throughout the month we’ll share three fun challenges on our Vancouver Island Regional Library + Fans Facebook page. Answer the questions in the challenges and you’ll be entered into a draw for the chance to win one of three fantastic prizes.
The draw will happen on October 27.
How to enter:
Challenge dates: The Library Month Giveway Challenge starts on Friday, October 7. A new challenge will appear on Friday, October 14 and Friday October 21. The giveaway closes at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, October 26.
Eligibility:
Write a valid answer in the comments that meets the question or challenge shared in the post on Vancouver Island Regional Library + Fans.
No purchase necessary. One entry per person per post.
Entrants must be 18 years of age or over, live within the Vancouver Island Regional Library service area and must be able to pick up their prize at their local branch to enter this draw.
Winners must answer a skill-testing question to claim the prize.
Three winners will be drawn at random from the entries on the Vancouver Island Regional Library Facebook Page. The draw will happen on Thursday, October 27. The first name drawn will win a cozy fall gift bag and the second two names drawn will each receive a gift card to a bookstore of their choice. Winners will be notified by direct message on Facebook and announced on Vancouver Island Regional Library + Fans and our other branch Facebook pages after October 27.
Employees of Vancouver Island Regional Library and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the draw.
Prizes:
First Name Drawn – A cozy fall gift bag that includes: a limited-edition VIRL mug, a VIRL cotton bag, bookish socks, a bag of coffee, Love Library pin, a bookmark and a $40 gift card to the bookstore of the winner’s choice (approx. value: 80)
Second Name Drawn – A $20 gift certificate to the bookstore of the winner’s choice, a love library pin and a bookmark (approx. value: 23$)
Third Name Drawn – A $20 gift certificate to the bookstore of the winner’s choice, a love library pin and bookmark (Approx value: 23$)
Terms and Conditions:
By entering this contest, you agree to have your name published on platforms owned by Vancouver Island Regional Library, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, our website and our e-newsletter.
You agree to by the official rules and the decisions of Vancouver Island Reginal Library as it relates to the draw, which shall be final in all respects.
VIRL reserves the right to refuse, withdraw or disqualify any entry at any time at its sole discretion.
Winners have 10 days to respond after initial attempted contact to claim their prize. If they cannot be reached, VIRL reserves the right to choose a new winner.
