If you love digital audiobooks and books, the chances are you’ve already downloaded the free Libby App so you can start borrowing great titles. But did you know Libby comes with a lot of great features?
Five things you may not know about eBooks and the Libby App
1.Most of our customers know about accessing our eBooks on their phone or tablet using the Libby App, but did you know you can also add library eBooks to your Kobo eReader?
If you have a newer Kobo, you can check out books directly on your device using the built-in OverDrive feature. Simply add your card in Settings, then search for books in the OverDrive menu on your device. Or add eBooks that have already been checked out on another device by pressing the “Sync” button at the top of the Kobo’s screen.
On older Kobos without OverDrive integration, books can be downloaded from our OverDrive website and added to your Kobo using a computer with free Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software.
Instructions for adding OverDrive eBooks to your Kobo through direct download and ADE are available on the Kobo website. Or ask for assistance at your local branch; we’re happy to help.
2. It has accessibility features, like dyslexic font and an improved screen reader compatibility. Find the full rundown of features (and how to adjust your accessibility settings) here.
3.You can adjust the playback speed in your digital audiobook (setting the custom speed from .6-3X). To change the playback speed in an audiobook tap and then choose a preset or drag the “fine tune” slider to set a custom speed.
4.You can subscribe to magazines (and magazines are unlimited use!). Click here to learn how.
5. You can filter your library’s catalogue to only see titles you’re interested in when browsing and searching. Learn how here.
