Learn about BC with our eResources

July 28, 2022

We’re closed on BC Day, Aug. 1, but we have lots of  digital content related to life in British Columbia that you can explore over the holiday.  Here are a few resources we like:

  1. PressReader: Not only is PressReader a BC Company, but they also have several magazines and newspapers published in BC including The Times Colonist, The Province, and The Vancouver Sun, Western Living, BC Business, and Vancouver Magazine.
  2. BC Historical Newspapers: When learning about our province’s past, why not go straight to the source? BC Historical Newspapers offers historical issues of The Times Colonist, The Province, and the Vancouver Sun, going back to the turn of the 20th
  3. OverDrive/Libby: Whether you’re looking for BC History, Travel Guides, or fiction by BC authors, our eBook and Audiobook Collections have you covered. During August, check out our featured lists of BC books on the OverDrive/Libby home page.
  4. KnowBC: KnowBC is the online home of Harbour Publishing, and includes books on BC history and natural history, field guides for BC, and their definitive publication The Encyclopedia of BC.
  5. BC: An Untold History: This fantastic resource offered by the Knowledge Network is a timeline of important events in BC history, decade by decade, with photos and articles. A great starting point for students or anyone else interested in BC history.
