November 28, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Knowing what to give as a gift during the holidays can be a real challenge, especially when the wish list includes video games, movies, music, graphic novels, magazines from around the world, and on and on and on. Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) has your back again this holiday season with Give Library.

We’re offering free library cards that are beautifully packaged for kids and adults as the perfect stocking stuffer for the people in your life who want it all.

“Give Library has been hugely popular since we launched it a couple of years ago,” says VIRL’s Executive Director, Rosemary Bonanno. “By giving library, we are helping families across Vancouver Island access the wide array of free services available with their library card. I know that stockings across our service area will be stuffed with library cheer this holiday season.”

Here’s a snapshot of just some of the resources available with a library card:

  • Access to millions of books, ebooks, and audiobooks
  • Critically-acclaimed streaming movies and TV
  • The latest video games
  • Free downloadable mp3 and streaming music
  • A global selection of magazines and newspapers
  • Lifelong learning opportunities

The library cards, which are available in every library branch and in select retail outlets, are beautifully packaged for kids and adults. Supplies are limited, so people are encouraged to visit their branch as soon as possible to pick up their cards.
