Always Available eBooks/Audiobooks and Credit-Free Films/TV
Our eBook and streaming video collections are popular, but holds waits and usage caps are not. If you’re waiting for your Libby hold to arrive or have used all of your Kanopy credits for the month, you may be interested in our unlimited use collections.
In Libby/OverDrive, we offer an “Always Available” collection of items that can be checked out by an unlimited number of users at the same time. In OverDrive, look for the “Always Available” icon in the item information. In Libby, look for items that say “Unlimited Copies”.
Try searching with the filter “Available Now” then browsing for items marked “Always Available” or “Unlimited Copies”. Our entire OverDrive magazine collection is also always available.
It can be challenging for book clubs to find titles that suit both eBooks and Audiobook users, that can be checked out by everyone at the same time. Luckily, we offer a monthly Always Available Book Club Pick in both formats.
In Kanopy, we now offer over 1000 credit-free items that don’t use any of your 10 monthly play credits. The materials are in four themed “PLUS Packs”, browsable on the Kanopy Home page: Favourites, Easy Watching, Diversity, and World Cinema. For younger members of the family, the Kanopy Kids collection is also credit-free.
