Sooke Region Lifelong Learning is a volunteer organization offering educational programs and workshops for older adults in the Sooke region. Based on the Elder College model, we provide stimulating and enjoyable learning environments which address the unique and diverse interests of participants.

Program Leader: Steve Atkin PhD, Kate Zeiler PhD, Chris Moss, Lynn Moss, Heather Phillips BA Anth.

606 Water Group formed during Covid. Steve and Kate have degrees in the area, Heather grew up here and knows the geography and history and Chris and Lynn are both curious and concerned. 606 Water Group has received two grants from the District of Sooke to further ideas about water, conservation and to engage in the public in water, watersheds and well education.

Program description: Without water there is no life.  Water is not a given nor is it endless. How do we ensure that the water will be available in the future?  We will take you through the climate change already happening and show you the source of all water in this area and ways to preserve and protect it.

Number of sessions: 2

Dates and time of session: Thursdays, November 2 and 9 from 1:30pm – 3:00pm.
