Debora Gurrad became interested in gardening at an early age from watching her parents, who are both in their nineties and still gardening. In 2019 she was able to fulfill her dream of Master Gardener training and has been a member of the Vancouver Island Master Gardener Association ever since. Her special interests are pruning and vegetable gardening. As a retired teacher who still loves to teach, Debora really enjoys sharing her gardening knowledge with other gardeners.

The Vancouver Island Master Gardeners Association (VIMGA) is a chapter of the Master Gardeners Association, an international service society of specially trained volunteers who teach science-based sustainable gardening practices to home gardeners. VIMGA is one of the 5 chapters in the British Columbia Association and partnering with the Victoria chapter, specializes in the stewardship of Vancouver Island’s unique environment.
