Jeremy Tankard is the critically acclaimed and best selling author/illustrator (or “authorstrator” as one young fan described him) of several picture books for young children. He is best known for the Grumpy Bird series from Scholastic Press. He has also illustrated several books with other authors including Melvis and Elvis by Canadian icon Dennis Lee; It’s a Tiger by David Larochelle; Here Comes Destructosaurus by Aaron Reynolds; and Piggy Bunny by Rachel Vail. Yorick and Bones is Jeremy’s first graphic novel, fulfilling a life long dream of making comic books. Fitting that he got to collaborate with his teenage daughter Hermione on this milestone. Yorick and Bones is the first in a small series featuring the titular Yorick and his canine friend Bones. Jeremy lives in Vancouver BC with his family.
Hermione Tankard is the co-writer of Yorick and Bones, a series of graphic novels from HarperCollins Children’s Publishers. She helped her dad, Jeremy Tankard, to craft this new Shakespearean adventure by taking his finished story and rewriting it into Shakespearean iambic pentameter, adding her own flourishes to the story in the process. Hermione has a passion for all things Shakespeare and loves being on stage. She is studying vocal performance (opera) at the University of Toronto. She divides her time between her home in Vancouver and university in Toronto.
