Join us for a Sooke Truth 4 Reconciliation virtual book club discussion. We will be reading and discussing Thomas King’s book, The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of Native People in North America. Rich with dark and light, pain and magic, The Inconvenient Indian distills the insights gleaned from Thomas King’s critical and personal meditation on what it means to be “Indian” in North America, weaving the curiously circular tale of the relationship between non-Natives and Natives in the centuries since the two first encountered each other.
We will be meeting via Zoom. Please register using the button below and include your email address. You will be sent the Zoom link to attend the meeting, and we will also let you know once copies of the book are available to pick up from the Sooke library branch.
