An event every month that begins at 1:30 pm on day First of the month, repeating until August 5, 2025

  • Branch: Qualicum Beach
  • Venue: Qualicum Beach Library

Swiss sociologist Bernard Crettaz organized the first Café Mortel in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, in 2004. Since then, hundreds of people from countries all over the world have gathered together for open conversations about death, dying, and everything in between. This is a facilitated space for community members to explore topics like mortality, death, and what we hope for ourselves and others. Come join us to share your thoughts, reflect on experiences, or simply listen. This event is for anyone open to discussing the topic. It’s not a grief support group, though grief may come up naturally. Everyone is welcome. No experience needed—just a willingness to engage.

Qualicum Beach Death Cafe is a free monthly event. No registration required.

Facilitated by Maleah Bajich, Certified Death Doula with Home Hospice Association.
