  • Branch: Courtenay
  • Audience:

Join us at the Courtenay branch for an afternoon of poetry with Wendy Donawa and Linda K. Thompson.

Donawa’s readings will feature her second book Our Bodies Unanswered Questions, which consists of “a part of the reader’s own search for meaning and consolation” (Lorna Crozier). Her first poetry collection, Thin Air of the Knowable was a finalist for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award, in which the jury remarked on: “intimacy in strangeness, and the endurance of ephemeral moments in memory and story”.

Thompson will read from her book Black Bears in the Carrot Field, which combines the twang of the hurtin’ song with something both dark and lyrical, in a voice ranging from rambunctious humour to heart-stopping poignancy.

Drop in – all are welcome!

Refreshments will be served and the authors will have books for sale at the event.
