DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION REQUIRED!   \nFrogs Fell from the Sky: Fiction in Poetry\na poetry circle with Mary Ann Moore \n  \nWe will gather in a circle to celebrate and discover the many gifts and surprises of fiction in poetry. \nThere are all sorts of changed or imagined elements in a poem\, as well as aspects that simply arrive when one lets the poem lead the way. Poems can contain “small fictions\,” arrive as gifts and epiphanies\, be prescient at times\, as well as become re-envisioned realities. You may ask yourself as you draft new poems: Is this fiction or my own wise advice?  Bring your notebook and pen\, your curiosity\, and be open to some new discoveries. \n  \nMary Ann Moore (she/her) is a poet\, writer and writing mentor who lives on the traditional lands of the Snuneymuxw First Nation in Nanaimo. She has been leading writing circles since 1997. Her poetry\, essays\, and book reviews have appeared in numerous publications. Mary Ann’s full-length book of poetry is Fishing for Mermaids (Leaf Press) and her latest chapbooks of poetry are Mending and Modern Words for Beauty both from house of appleton. One of Mary Ann’s chapbook manuscripts\, “The Risks We Take for Love\,” was shortlisted in the Raven Chapbooks contest 2025. www.maryannmoore.ca
