Alone but not alone: Poetry in Isolation

A call to all poets

An invitation to submit poetry for the consideration of a Vancouver Island Regional Library poetry anthology “Alone but not Alone: Poetry in Isolation”. Join us in beating the feeling of Isolation onset by the lockdown of COVID-19 while we continue to isolate for a safer world by submitting your poetry on the topic of how you are doing during this pandemic. Are you finding new inspirations, are you angry and fearful of the future or spending time happily with your family or in your garden? We want to hear from you and ask you to share your poetry.

Important Dates

Submission deadline: September 28, 2020
Notice of acceptance: October 31, 2020
Book Launch and online reading: December 5, 2020

Submission Details

Please submit your poem for consideration to CC@virl.bc.ca.
Submit up to three poems as a .DOC, .DOCX, .RTF, or a .TXT file. The anthology will be bound as a 6 x 9 inches, soft cover perfect bound book our very own Espresso Book Machine.
Please include a 100 word max biography with your submission.

Cover Photography Submissions

We are seeking a cover image for use with the anthology by a local amateur photographer of a natural west coast scene.
Please submit your image for consideration in .jpg format to CC@virl.bc.ca. If you are interested in learning more about photography, join our professional group series to learn more.
