Join us for the first session of the Winter 2020 Philosopher’s Cafe series. In February, VIU professor Stephanie McKenzie will be leading us in debate and discussion. The topic is the replication crisis in psychology. Psychology research has led to discoveries that are new and exciting, but, despite concerted efforts, often can’t be replicated. Does this failure in replication point to a deeper problem ― in methodology, research incentives, or criteria for knowledge?

Stephanie McKenzie has taught in the VIU Psychology Department since 2010. Her special interests are historical and theoretical psychology, with an emphasis on personhood and agency.
