What is Opus Babble?
If you love chatting about books but don’t want to commit to a book club, Opus Babble might be the setting for you!
Each month one author will be chosen. Participants can choose which month(s) they want to register for, and which book that they want to read by the chosen author. Discussion night will take place on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm. As a group we will discuss common threads in the author’s work, or any other observations that participants may have. Maybe you will even be inspired to read another book by the author!
Books will not be given out from a book club set. Participants can check the book out from our circulating collection in a format of their preference. Search the VIRL collection for Haruki Murakami books in multiple formats.
Our March author is Haruki Murakami. Murakami typically writes magical realism. While rooted in real life, his stories are often very surreal. He has written many books, giving participants in this month’s discussion plenty to choose from! One of his most notable books is Norwegian Wood.
