Join us for lunch hour learning!

On Wednesday, February 15, with Sa’ke’j Henderson discuss his book, Protecting Indigenous Knowledge and Heritage: A Global Challenge. This session, part of the Learning with Syeyutsus Speaker Series, will be shown in the South Cowichan Library in the Mill Bay Centre. Bring a lunch! Hot tea will be provided.

We are excited to learn from Sa’ke’j Henderson about a number of important topics ranging from what constitutes Indigenous knowledge and who may use it; the importance of preserving Indigenous languages; how knowledge is transmitted in Indigenous communities; issues in performing arts and artwork; and proposals for creating a legal regime that will help revive and protect Indigenous knowledge and require consent for its use.
