SUMMARY:Culture Days: Re-Cycles with Salmon
DESCRIPTION:Salmon live\, breathe and feed the watershed ecosystem\, from the riverbed\, through the forest\, to the ocean\, and back again. We human animals also breathe\, and drink from the same waters as the salmon; our bodies hold our regions’ waters in our cells and blood. We are connected to this cycle in critical ways. Re-Cycles with Salmon is a collaborative fiber-art piece which brings together upcycled community clothing\, sewn and painted salmon by local creatives\, and the combined artistic concepts and skills of Joyce McLellan\, səlilwətaɬ\, Tsleil-Waututh Nation\, and Leslie Love. Together\, our many hands and stories are held in a collage of threads\, which demonstrate the salmon’s cycle of life and how artists can create new visions of a better future through care and attention in community. \n  \nCheck out the exhibition during regular library open hours during Culture Days (Sept.18-October 4th). \n  \n  \n
