Vanessa McCumber is a children’s book editor at Orca Book Publishers, one of Canada’s leading independent publishers of books for young readers. Vanessa is excited to return to her childhood library branch to speak about her experiences in the publishing industry. She will describe what writers can expect throughout the process of publishing a picture book or board book, including preparing manuscripts for submission and working with editors, designers and illustrators.
