Join us as we welcome author Joy Davis, who will be presenting her book Complicated Simplicity: Island Life in the Pacific Northwest, a rich exploration of small islands in the coastal Pacific Northwest and the remarkable people who call them home.
“Highly recommended for anyone who has ever lived on an island, or dreamt of doing so.” – Grant Lawrence, author of Adventures in Solitude: What Not to Wear to a Nude Potluck and Other Stories from Desolation Sound
Joy Davis combines deep coastal roots and a love for island living with an established career in cultural heritage. In 2015, she won the Canadian Museum’s Association Distinguished Service Award. Davis lives in Victoria, BC, where she balanced family, sailing, writing, and community engagement.
This is a free, drop in event. Everyone welcome.
