We will be hosting a reading with Cynthia LeBrun as she celebrates her new book Black Sunflowers, a historical fiction novel based on the true story of a family who lived in Ukraine during the 1930s and 40’s and how the people suffered in the Holodomor under the Soviet Union with Stalin. This novel was heavily researched, including interviews with the author’s mother-in-law, Veronika, a survivor of this time.
Cynthia’s presentation will include the history of Soviet Occupied Ukraine during the time Veronika live there, followed by a reading from her book and then a question-and-answer session. After her presentation, copies of Black Sunflowers will be available for purchase, and signing, otherwise her book is available at all local bookstores or online.
Tea will be provided.
