Do you love to read romance novels and/or fiction with romantic subplots? Join the Nanaimo Harbourfront Library’s new Romance Book Club! We will be meeting in the evening from 6:30 – 7:30pm on the last Thursday of every month, starting January 30th 2020.  The book club will be co-facilitated by local romance author Vanessa Grant and librarian Casey.

The romance book club is a twist on the traditional book club format. Each month we will read romance books that feature a romance trope or theme, such as an “enemies-to-lovers” plot, a royal romance, a lovers reunited story, or a “fake relationship.” We’ll explore what makes these books work as a group.

Book club members are free to choose any romance novel or book with romantic subplot that features that month’s theme. Pick a book in any sub-genre of romance you like: historical, paranormal, contemporary, classic, romantic suspense, science fiction, fantasy, inspirational, YA, LGBTQ or others! You may want to branch out with a new sub-genre. You can read a novel by a favourite author you know and love, or try a new author. It’s all up to you! If you can, bring a copy (print or digital) of the book that you read to our meeting so you can share it with us.

Whether you’re a seasoned romance reader, new to the genre, or a (budding) romance writer yourself, we would love to see you at All The Romance Tropes!  Join our Facebook group now to get updates and reminders: https://www.facebook.com/groups/alltheromancetropes/. See below for the schedule and book suggestions for each theme.
