eSports At Your Library

Throughout the summer, racers from across VIRL’s 39 branches met online every Wednesday from 9 am to 11 am to put their racing skills to the test in our first-ever eSports tournament; Mario Kart 8 SRC Championship. We had such a blast with everyone that joined us. The top three race scorers of the championship received great prizes:
- 1st place: Alec from our Nanaimo North Branch
- 2nd place: Avery from our Port Alberni Branch
- 3rd place: Hannah from our Cowichan Lake Branch
We’re gearing up for a new, all ages championship race this Fall and we’d love for you to join us! We’ll be racing on Wednesdays starting September 16 until December 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST. To find out how to join the championship visit our events page.
