DESCRIPTION:Calling all young authors! It’s time to submit your most spine-tingling terrifying tale! This youth writing contest begins September 17 and runs until October 17 at 6pm. \nThe age groups are 8-10 years\, 11-14 years\, and 15-18 years with winners from each age group on Quadra Island receiving a published copy of the “Terrifying Tales” book.  A copy of this years ‘Terrifying Tales” will also be added to the Library collection. \nContest Rules; \nLimit of 800 words per story\, with the theme “Terrifying”.\nLimit of one story per writer.\nStory must be an original piece of your own work. No AI use or plagiarism.\nIndividual entries only! Group or class submissions will not be accepted.\nAll submissions must be sent by email\, in the body of the email\, to the Quadra Island Library – quadraisland@virl.bc.ca

Join us for an on-going\, biweekly game of D&D where you will fight against monsters and evil of the world! \nThis Fall\, Renée (Child & Youth Librarian) is offering a biweekly campaign on WEDNESDAYS from 3:30-5:30pm\, starting September 23 and finishing in December. Her campaign\, The Baron’s Banquet\, is a fun\, light-hearted quest that send players to find some magical items before time runs out! Beginners are welcome. \nSupplies will be provided and spaces are limited. You can register in person or by emailing crinfo@virl.bc.ca  \nPlease note: this is not a drop-in program! Our D&D Club is designed to have D&D sessions every 2 weeks. We ask that players are committed to attending for the duration of the campaign.
