SUMMARY:Cowichan Death Cafe
DESCRIPTION:A unique space for individuals to engage in open and honest\nconversations about death and mortality. \nAt a Death Café\, there are no experts or leaders. Instead\, participants\ntraditionally gather around warm tea and cake and engage in\nrespectful and compassionate discussions. The focus is not on\nmourning or grief but rather on fostering a deeper understanding of\ndeath and its impact on our lives. Conversations at a Death Café can\nrange from personal experiences with loss to philosophical reflections\non the meaning of life and death.\nParticipants are encouraged to share their stories\, ask questions\, and\nlisten attentively to others. There is no pressure to speak\, and silence\nis welcomed as a natural part of the process. The concept of Death\nCafés is rooted in the belief that talking about death can help us live\nmore fully and appreciate the preciousness of life. By creating a safe\nspace for these conversations\, Death Cafés contribute to breaking\ndown the taboo surrounding death and encouraging a healthier and\nmore open approach to our mortality.\nJoin us in this local community Death Cafe for a gathering that\npromises to be both thought-provoking and heartwarming. Whether\nyou have experienced a personal loss\, are curious about death’s\nmysteries\, or simply seek to connect with others on a deeper level\, we\nwelcome you to this unique and transformative conversation circle. \nDeath Café\nA Space for Conversations About Mortality\n12-1:30pm\, Duncan Library Meeting Room\nFREE!\nFacilitated by Sarah Corrin\, RCC\, InnerPresenceCounselling.com
