Job Description:

The Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) is seeking a part time Library Page employee to work in our Ucluelet Branch.

This position will appeal to high school, home schooled and university students. Hours may include mornings, after school, evenings and weekends.

The weekly schedule is currently:

Tuesday: 3:00-5:00pm
Thursday: 6:00-8:00pm

The successful candidate will be an outgoing individual who takes pride in being organized – accurately shelving materials and completing routine library tasks in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

EXAMPLES OF REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  1. Shelving materials.
  2. Stacking and sorting materials.
  3. Shelf reading.
  4. Pulling materials including: duplicate copies, worn and dirty materials as required
  5. Processing library materials: Glues pockets, stamps, laminates book jackets or tapes labels, wraps and tapes jackets, inserts theft control materials, strips jackets in preparation for re-lamination.
  6. Tidying, shifting, organizing and facing materials on shelves.
  7. Collecting and emptying garbage, recycling, and shredding, etc.
  8. Replenishes cartridges, toner, and paper supplies in branch equipment.
