You can extend the loan period by renewing items. The renewal period of an item is the same as the original loan period, unless it is a high demand item. Only two renewals per item are allowed.

Not renewable are some collections like magazines, Interlibrary Loans, Express Reads, and Reference materials.

How can I renew?

On the Internet:

Connect to My VIRL through the catalogue.

Go to the renewal page to learn more.

By Telephone:

Call 1-888-988-8475 within our service area.

You will need your 14 digit Library Card, your 4 digit PIN, and the library barcodes of the items you wish to renew.

Self Checkout

Self checkout stations are available at most branches, and you can use Self Checkout to renew items.

In Person

Just bring in the items and our staff will be happy to renew them for you.
