Teenager Stanley Yelnats is sent to Camp Green Lake, a detention camp located in a blazing hot, waterless desert. Stanley has been convicted of a crime (stealing a pair of sneakers) he did not commit. As punishment, each day, the boys must dig a hole five feet deep and five feet wide for some mysterious reason…Curious yet? There will be a discussion after the film for those who wish to stay.
