Funded by Canadian Heritage, and offered by La Société francophone de Victoria, LES MURALES is a public art opportunity open to both older children (12+) and adults. All materials will be provided on site.

Members of the public are invited to each PAINT a tile commemorating the history among French, English, and chinook languages.. Tiles from each of Les Murales events will be combined into a larger installation by local artist and Cowichan Intercultural Society member Françoise Moulin. After it’s completed, this mural will tour Vancouver Island and then be installed permanently at the Societe Francophone de Victoria.

Activites kick off at 5PM with performances of song and story. The program begins with a short concert featuring historical songs sung in Chinook, French and English. Participants will then be provided with materials to make their own contributions to Les Murales art project.
