In October 1946, British novelist Malcolm Lowry visited Gabriola Island. His notes from that trip resulted in his iconic novel October Ferry to Gabriola. The Gabriola Museum, Friends of the Library, and Gabriola Island branch library have teamed up to present a series of events to commemorate Lowry's visit.

Withering from alcoholism, British consul Geoffrey Firmin stumbles through a small Mexican village amidst the Day of the Dead fiesta, attempting to reconnect with his estranged wife, but only further alienating himself. This movie is based on the novel by malcolm lowry, which was published in 1947. Hosted by Wendy Strachan.

This is a free, drop in event. Everyone welcome.
