Heard about 3D printing? Curious, and want to learn more? The Courtenay branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library is hosting a 6-week introductory course for computer-assisted design (CAD) for 3D printing. The course will run from May 4 to June 8, comprising a 90 minute class every Thursday evening from 6 – 7:30 pm.

The course will be led by technology educators Julian Rendell, founder of MakeItZone, a Makerspace for the Comox Valley, and Bartosz Bos, 3D printing specialist. The library will provide access to computers and support.

The course will use Tinkercad, a free, browser-based 3D design and modeling tool from AutoDesk. Learn how to make models in Tinkercad and prepare models for printing.

Register by email to courtenay [at] virl [dot] bc [dot] ca or in-branch at the Courtenay Library. Space is limited.
