Join us on Friday January 27 as we celebrate Family Literacy Day. Established in 1999 by ABC Life Literacy Canada, Family Literacy Day encourages families to participate in fun learning activities together to improve literacy skills for both adults and children. Pick up a “VIRL Passport to Learning,” complete the library-related activities in the passport and you might win a prize!
· Pick up a bag of books for children 0-5. Peninsula Connections for Early Childhood supports the goal of a child having 1000 books read to them by age 5.
· Board Game Fun – Bring the whole family to play board games and enjoy refreshments. Check out the Kid Zone’s new look with furnishings generously provided by the Friends of the Library. 3:00-5:00pm
· Family Pajama Storytime – Wear your pajamas, bring a favourite stuffed animal and join us for stories, songs and fun! 6:30-7:00pm
