Award winning author Alan Cumyn, who is visiting Port Alice as writer in residence sponsored by the Vancouver International Writers Festival, will read from his varied work.

Alan's newest novel, Tilt, for young adults, is an official selection this fall of the Junior Library Guild in the U.S.

He is also the author of the celebrated Owen Skye novels for younger readers, and of seven adult novels, including the First World War saga of artist Ramsay Crome told in The Sojourn and The Famished Lover.

Alan, who lives in Ottawa, has had work shortlisted for the Giller Prize and the Governor General's Award. He teaches through the Vermont College of Fine Arts and is a recent past Chair of The Writers' Union of Canada.
