Login Help

You can login to your My VIRL account using the barcode on your library card and the PIN you selected when you received your library card.

Login at the top right corner of any page on our website. After you register, you can place holds, manage your library account, leave comments and rank your favourite titles.

First Time Registration

You will need to register for your online account the first time you log into My VIRL; to do this, you will need your library card.

You will be asked to enter your 16 digit library card number and PIN - your Personal Identification Number - which is a 4 digit code unique to you. The default PIN is usually the last 4 digits of your telephone number.  If you do not know your PIN, please contact us.

You must create a Username to register

A Username is a fictional name or any easy to remember combination of letters and/or words that you use to login, instead of your library card number. Your Username will be displayed beside any comments you make; it can be up to 24 characters.

Note: you cannot have a space in your username.

After creating a Username, click on “Check Availability” to ensure that no one else has used that name. If your Username is unavailable, you can add numbers or letters or change it until it says it is available.

Email Address (optional) will be used if you forget your PIN/Password and need to reset it.

Now you need to agree to the Terms of Use and Register.
